Sclerotherapy Treatment Woodbridge, Vaughan, Brampton
Varicose and spider veins on the legs bother men and women alike from 17 to 70 years of age.
Many things contribute to the development of unsightly veins, including hormones, genetics, weight, activity and previous trauma, to name a few.
Sclerotherapy Treatment
Treatment ranges from simple to more involved.
If there is a known trigger, then it is important to fix the underlying cause, such as weight or birth control. For other veins that have no known cause, treatment options include sclerotherapy, compression stockings, laser or surgery.
Sclerotherapy: How Does It Work?
Sclerotherapy involves injections of salt water directly into the unwanted vein. This irritates the lining of the vein causing it to collapse on itself.
Each person’s case is different and some patients need one or two treatments while others require multiple sessions.
Sclerotherapy: Side Effects
Common side effects include minor bruising, discomfort or swelling, but can include a potential worsening of the vein. Treatments are usually performed six weeks apart.
Unwanted veins can also be treated at our clinic through laser therapy.
