Lumecca Laser Treatment (IPL)
Lumecca™ is an effective intense pulsed light (IPL) device used to treat age spots, rosacea and spider veins (broken blood vessels). Photofacials: Intense Pulse Light Therapy.
Treatments generally take less than half an hour and are described as an elastic band snapping on the skin.
After treatment, the skin usually feels warm like a mild sunburn, similar to after a laser hair removal session. Over the next 24-48 hours you may notice a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening of skin tone.
After treating blood vessels, you may see the vessel blanch and disappear, or a colour change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. Clients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of their skin.
Lumecca: Common Areas Of Treatment
Lumecca™ can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun.
These often include:
-
face
-
neck
-
décolletage
-
legs
-
hands
-
arms
It is important to avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning 6 weeks prior to treatment.
Most clients like to have a treatment on a Friday and return to work Monday looking refreshed.
Improvement in skin appearance can be seen after the first treatment and multiple sessions provide even better results with an improvement in sun damage, and troublesome blood vessels.
To prolong and enhance the benefits of photofacials to sun damaged skin, it is important to maintain proper skin care with Lytera, TNS Essential Serum and Elta Sunscreen.
Fine wrinkles can also improve when combined with Fraxel®, Fractora™ or CO2 laser treatment.
